Creator/Contributor:

Holbrook, Clarke B., correspondent.

Abstract:

Manuscript letter replying to a friend's request for information on the prospects of opening a butcher shop in Petaluma, Calif. McCausland believes the prospects to be good despite the presence of two butcher shops already due to the growth of Petaluma and its favorable location but his brother, who has been in the area longer, disagrees. He writes further that he is expecting to leave shortly for Sonoma City to take over a school. Also includes some incomplete manuscript writing unrelated to the letter contents (p.4) discussing the mines and a murder of [G. Salley?] "in open day light." Includes typescript transcription of letter.
